Within a portal, that will evaluate to the portal row number of the record. Maybe you could use that somehow. Without more information on what you're trying to accomplish, though, it's tough to say.

how to find the number of rows in a portal?

Use a script to go to the last portal row and use the Get (portalrow number) function to get the row number. If your relationship allows creating a new record, I think you might need to subtract 1 from the Get function result. Expand Post. juandent (Member) 6 years ago.

23-02-2011 · Posted April 3, 2008. You do not need to use get (portalRowNumber). You can create a field RecordNumber, unstored calc, get (RecordNumber). This will display correctly no matter where the record is. If it is in a portal, it will show portal row number. I sometimes prefer to do this because of how I place fields in portals and how I size portals.
